Known for her photographic portraits of artists in their studios, which have been exhibited and published throughout the country, painter Lenore Seroka uses her own unique version of the classic encaustic method, combining dry pigment with beeswax melted in hot pans. The hot “paint” is applied to warm archival paper or canvas on wood, in layers, to get a semi-transparent effect.
